In the first year of the project, we expect to support up to nine incoming first-year majors, and up to six sophomores and juniors in computer science and mathematics. Scholarships will be in the amount of approximately $5,300 per student per year for four years. Scholarships will be renewable each year as long as students continue to meet the requirements.
Scholarship recipients will meet on a regular weekly basis with fellow iPics scholars and faculty mentors, be organized into learning communities, and engage in research and projects focused on a common theme of computational science. (Computational science is an emerging area in which concepts from computer science and mathematics are applied to solve problems in mathematics, computer science, and science.) Students will also engage in significant advising, mentoring, and tutoring activities that supplement those already provided by the College.
All eligible students are invited to apply for a scholarship through the iPics program.
