Scholarships are in the amount of approximately $5,300 per student per year for four years*

*Scholarships will be renewable each year as long as students continue to meet the requirements.

Scholarship recipients will:

  • Meet on a regular weekly basis with fellow iPics scholars and faculty mentors
  • Be organized into learning communities
  • Engage in research and projects focused on a common theme of computational science*
  • Receive significant advising, mentoring and tutoring that supplement those already provided by the College

*Computational science is an emerging area in which concepts from computer science and mathematics are applied to solve problems in mathematics, computer science, and science.

The Grant

This site hosts information about the Innovative Projects in Computational Science (IPICS) program funded through the Scholarships for Success in Computational Science grant from NSF’s S-STEM program (Award # 1356235).

This grant forms the basis of a sustainable initiative to recruit, retain and graduate more students in computer science and mathematics at TCNJ. Beginning in Fall 2014, the Scholarships for Success in Computational Science project funded several scholarships per year for computer science and mathematics students who will be organized into learning communities and engage in research focused on a common theme of computational science.
